Peddapalli: Sripada Yellampalli Project officials on Wednesday lifted nine floodgates to release 72,801 cusecs of water downstream as the reservoir reached full capacity following heavy inflows from upstream areas.
The project is receiving 73,089 cusecs of inflows, including 50,000 cusecs from the Sri Ram Sagar Project and 4,744 cusecs from the Kadem Project, due to continuous rainfall in the upper catchment areas.
With water levels touching the full capacity of 20.1754 tmc at 148 metres, officials decided to release water downstream to regulate the storage.
