Kothagudem: Yellandu MLA Koram Kanakaiah’s younger brother, Koram Surender, allegedly threatened a youth for sharing a message critical of the legislator on social media.
The youth, Maloth Nivas of Dasu Thanda in Tekulapally mandal, reportedly shared a video clipping of an incident at Yellandu market yard PACS on Thursday, where farmers confronted the MLA over urea shortages.
Taking offence, Surender is said to have telephoned Nivas, demanding that he delete the post. An audio clip of their conversation later went viral on social media, in which Surender was heard hurling abuses and warning that Nivas would be killed and his fingers chopped off.
Following the incident, Nivas lodged a complaint against Surender with Tekulapally police. Meanwhile, Tekulapally Congress leaders also filed a complaint against Nivas, after which he was reportedly taken into custody for questioning.
