Young doctor from Guntur dies by suicide after J1 visa setback
A young woman doctor from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, died by suicide in Hyderabad, reportedly dejected over her US visa not being approved. Dr. Rohini, who had completed her medical studies in Russia, was keen on pursuing higher studies and practising in the United States. She had already visited the US to make arrangements for residency but was awaiting a J1 visa for several months.

Hyderabad: A young woman doctor, suspected to be dejected at not getting her visa to the United States, died by suicide in the city.
According to information available, Dr Rohini, hailing from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, had completed her medical studies in Russia and was keen on pursuing her higher studies and practicing in the US. She is reported to have already been to the US to make arrangements for residency and practice there.
Dr Rohini is said to have applied for a J1 visa and was awaiting it for the last few months. However, the dreams of the doctor on higher learning and practicing in the US faced uncertainty with the visa reportedly failing to be approved.
It is suspected that the young doctor ended her life by taking a sleeping pill overdose.
