Siddipet: Days before his planned visit to his village, an NRI from Siddipet district died in the United States, plunging his family members and the village into sorrow.

According to reports reaching here, Dr Rajesh Pavadi of Cheelapur in Bejjanki mandal moved to the US in 2016 and completed his PhD. He secured a good job and was planning to visit his family this month and get married too. But fate willed otherwise.

Shailesh, his elder brother, told ‘Telangana Today’ that Rajesh got settled well in the US and wanted to get married after his return to the village this month.

The son of a retired Government Railway Constable, Rajesh had completed his PhD in 2025. His parents too attended his graduation ceremony and spent over three months with him. Since his H1B visa renewal was scheduled in February, Shailesh said his brother planned a visit to India this month after his visa was extended for three more years in February this year.

However, he took ill, and when he stopped responding to calls, Shailesh sent his cousin to check on Rajesh. His cousin found Rajesh in a serious condition and rushed him to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment for jaundice caused by multiple organ failure on March 17.

The body will be brought to Hyderabad on Wednesday, and the funeral will be performed on the same day afternoon at Cheelapur.
