Young woman dies as RTC bus hits scooter in Medchal

A 20-year-old woman died in a road accident at Kandlakoya, Medchal, when a speeding RTC bus hit the scooter she was riding with her uncle and sister. The other two were injured and hospitalised.

Hyderabad: In a tragic road accident, a young woman died while two others were injured when the scooter they were travelling on was hit by a speeding TGSRTC bus at Kandlakoya in Medchal on Friday.

According to police, M Keerthana (20), who was working at a private company, was travelling from Girmapur to Moosapet along with her uncle Prabhakar and sister Sankeerthana on a scooter.

On reaching Kandlakoya, a RTC bus coming from behind reportedly hit their vehicle, throwing all three onto the road. Keerthana came under the wheels of the bus and died on the spot. Others fell on the other side of the road and sustained injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating.
