Rashtrapati Nilayam marks Unity Day with cultural tribute to Sardar Patel
Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad commemorated National Unity Day 2025 with vibrant celebrations honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. Over 2,600 students participated in exhibitions, cultural performances, and a Unity Walk.

Hyderabad: Rashtrapati Nilayam, an official winter retreat of the President of India, located in Bolarum, Secunderabad, celebrated ‘National Unity Day 2025′ on October 30 and 31, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Around 2,600 students from 25 schools and 16 colleges took part in the celebrations.
The celebrations featured a photo and painting exhibition by the Gandhiji Global Educational Organization, depicting Sardar Patel’s life and contributions. A Unity Walk and India Map Formation were also organised with student participation. A documentary film on Sardar Patel’s life was screened, tracing his pivotal role in integrating over 560 princely states before Independence.
Various cultural events, including a dance performance on ‘Jayatu…Jayatu Bharatam’ and a patriotic group song performed by the students, received an enthusiastic response. An interaction session was held with political activist Jayaprakash Narayan and students.
