Young woman from Andhra found dead in Madhapur hotel room; Boyfriend absconding

A 23-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh, Sharon Nikhita Topno, was found dead with severe injuries after being taken from a hotel in Madhapur to a private hospital. Her boyfriend, Srinivasa Ravi Teja, allegedly fled after she was declared dead.

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh was found dead with severe injuries at a hotel in Madhapur on Tuesday, raising suspicion over the circumstances surrounding her death.

Police said her boyfriend allegedly fled the hospital after doctors declared her dead. The woman was identified as Sharon Nikhita Topno, a native of Visakhapatnam.

According to preliminary information, she had come to Hyderabad with her boyfriend, Srinivasa Ravi Teja. The couple reportedly checked into a hotel on Road No. 5 in Siddiq Nagar, Madhapur on Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday morning, Ravi Teja and hotel staff took Nikhita to a private hospital in Kondapur after she reportedly required emergency medical attention. Doctors examined her and declared her dead.

On receiving information, Madhapur police reached the spot, examined the body and noticed severe injuries and swelling on her face and head.

Police said Ravi Teja allegedly left the hospital after doctors declared Nikhita dead and has remained untraceable.

A search is on to locate him and question him about the circumstances leading to her death. Officials inspected the hotel room and reportedly found bloodstains on the walls and bedsheet.

A clues team was called in to collect forensic evidence from the room.
Nikhita’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy.

Police are examining the forensic evidence, CCTV footage and other available evidence to establish what happened inside the hotel and determine the exact cause and sequence of events.

Madhapur police have registered a case and are investigating.
