Young YouTuber in Manikonda ends life after breakup, probe underway

A 22-year-old YouTuber and BSc student died by suicide at her uncle’s residence in Manikonda, Hyderabad. Police reports suggest she had been emotionally distressed following a breakup with her boyfriend, also a YouTuber, about a year ago.

Hyderabad: A young woman YouTuber died by suicide at her residence in Manikonda under Raidurgam on Monday.

The woman, identified as Komali, was pursuing a BSc degree at Malla Reddy University and was also creating YouTube content part-time. She had been staying at her uncle’s house in Chitrapuri Colony.

As per information available, Komali had been in a relationship for nearly three years with a software employee who is also active as a YouTuber. The couple reportedly broke up about a year ago following differences.

Family members are learnt to have told police that she had been emotionally distressed since the separation and had earlier attempted to take her life, but was saved in time.

Two days before the incident, Komali is said to have contacted her boyfriend over the phone, and an argument reportedly ensued. Police suspect that she was deeply upset following the exchange.

On Monday, when no one was at home, she allegedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan using a saree.

On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

The case is under investigation.
