Youngster feared drowned in stream in Adilabad
Locals reported that Lade Dattu, a resident of Laxmipur village, was believed to have drowned in the stream. A rescue operation was launched to locate his body. He was traveling from Adilabad to Laxmipur when the incident occurred. As of the afternoon, his body had not yet been recovered.
Adilabad: A youngster was feared drowned in a flooding stream while crossing a bridge at Tharnam village in Bhoraj mandal on Wednesday.
Locals said that Lade Dattu from Laxmipur village was suspected to have drowned in the stream. A rescue team launched an operation to trace the body of the youngster. He was on his way to Laxmipur from Adilabad at the time of the incident. The body was not retrieved till afternoon.
Meanwhile, former Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna inspected the bridge and expressed displeasure over sluggish progress of work on the bridge. He said that people were losing lives due to negligence of both State and Union governments in constructing the bridge. He demanded the government to expedite the work.
