B Jayanth Sai, a resident of Birelli village in Bonakal mandal, had recently gained admission to a private university. He was part of a group of 20 students who went swimming at Kanyakumari beach on the evening of September 17.

The individuals were identified as Naveen (20) and Ramu (25). The third person escaped the scene and did not inform their families until Wednesday morning, fearing repercussions. When the parents inquired about the missing youths, he eventually disclosed the incident on Wednesday.
