Youth cheats a young woman on the pretext of marriage, assaults her sexually
A young woman and her family members staged a dharna outside a youth’s house in Paloncha mandal, accusing him of sexually assaulting her after promising marriage. They demanded a thorough police investigation and legal action against the alleged perpetrator
Kothagudem: A young woman and her family members staged a protest in front of a youth’s house at Kodipunjulavagu village of Paloncha mandal in the district, accusing him of sexually assaulting her on the pretext of marriage.
According to family members, the youth, Bhukya Abhi of the village, and the young woman have been in love for the past two years. The youth took her to a dumping yard in Pullaiyagudem area at around 11 pm on Sunday, saying he would marry her.
However, he sexually assaulted her there and then beat her up while refusing to marry her. Later, the young woman called her family members and explained her situation. The youth left the place before the woman’s family members reached there, they said.
The woman, along with her family members, staged a dharna in front of Abhi’s house on Monday demanding justice. They wanted the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and take legal action against the perpetrator.
