Youth died in a road accident two days ahead of his engagement ceremony
A 28-year-old man from Maddulapalli in Khammam died in a road accident just two days before his engagement. The incident has left the family in deep shock, turning a moment of celebration into mourning

Khammam: A young man, who was scheduled to get engaged in two days, died in a road accident, turning the joyful atmosphere in the family into mourning in Edulapuram Municipality in the district.
According to police, Goddugorla Prasad (28) of Maddulapalli area in the municipality works as a painter. His marriage had recently been arranged, and his engagement ceremony was scheduled to take place this Thursday.
On Tuesday night, he went to a grocery store situated at Maddulapalli junction. While he was crossing the road to return home, a speeding car struck him. Sustaining severe head injuries, Prasad died instantly at the scene.
On receiving information about the accident, the police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection and shifted the body to the government hospital for a post-mortem. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Maddulapalli village as Prasad was carried away on a funeral bier for his final rites on Wednesday, a day before his engagement ceremony.
