Police arrested a youth, recovered cars and other valuables worth Rs 10 lakh in Khammam on Monday.
Khammam: The two town police have on Monday arrested a youth from Andhra Pradesh and recovered two cars and other valuables he had stolen here.
The two-town Inspector of Police (CI) Sridhar in a statement informed that the 25-year-old accused, Dendukuri Ganesh of Poranki village in Penamaluru mandal, Krishna district in AP came to Khammam six month ago in search of livelihood.
He started working as an operation theatre assistant in a private hospital here six months ago. He left the job and was currently working as a real estate agent. Seven days ago he had stolen a car of a doctor at the hospital where he worked earlier and stole another car the next day at a travel office.
When working in the hospital he used to steal money and mobile phones from the patients and their relatives at the hospital. The accused Ganesh was taken into custody during vehicle inspections at NTR Circle when he was going to Vijayawada to sell the stolen cars and phones.
He confessed to his crimes after which he was arrested. Two cars, four cell phones and a printer all worth around Rs 10 lakh have been recovered from the accused, the CI informed.
