Karimnagar: Two youngsters from Jammikunta smashed up wall clocks and umbrellas given to them by BJP leader Eatala Rajender for distribution among people with an eye on the Huzurabad by-poll. The incident took place in the presence of Ministers T Harish Rao and Koppula Eashwar on Sunday.

About 2,000 youth from the BJP youth wing and ABVP joined TRS in the presence of the Ministers at a programme held in Jammikunta. Some of them came with wall clocks and umbrellas apparently given to them by Rajender and smashed them on the dais. Manda Rajesh, one of the youngsters, said Rajender instructed them to distribute the wall clocks and umbrellas in their localities, but they turned down his request.

“Wall clocks and umbrellas don’t help in building confidence among the people, and hence we refused to distribute them,” he said, adding that the BJP leaders was also spreading false propaganda that the State government would not give Dalit Bandhu funds to all Dalits. Rajender’s claims have been proved wrong with the State government depositing the money in the bank accounts of Dalits, he added.
