ZEE5 reveals Hyderabad stands second in content consumption; ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ and ‘Taj’ lead viewership

Hyderabad: Hyderabad stands at second in consumption of content on ZEE5 platform reveals viewership trends study by the OTT platform from July 2023-July 2024. The study also revealed an increase in watch-time from regional languages and non-metro cities.
The data showed that Hyderabad has recorded the highest audience base for 4K streaming, with a 278% surge in 4K viewership from South India and 310% increase from North India.
The viewership chat further reveals that while Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi lead the charts for content consumption in metro cities, the platform also attracts 40% of audiences from tier 2 and 3 cities. Further the OTT also recorded a 25% annual growth in time spent by each user.
Additionally, revealing its chart toppers from last one year, the OTT platform said that ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai‘ received the highest watch time in direct-to-digital movies while ‘Taj‘ is the most watched original series of the year.
Commenting on the trends, Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer at ZEE5 said, “In the last one year, we have released several titles within our post-theatrical and original content library. The audience has spent a total of 85 billion minutes from July 2023 – July 2024 on the platform, with viewership coming in from multiple audience cohorts and geographies. ”
The CBO further said that the ZEE5 platform will stay committed to producing diverse and engaging content with a prime focus on quality storytelling.
