11 tribals booked in Mulugu clash; BRS supports affected families
Eturunagaram police file cases against 11 tribals for allegedly attacking forest officials during an eviction drive in Chalpaka village. BRS leader Nagajyothi condemns the action, accuses officials of harassment, and criticises Minister Seethakka for not delivering on housing promises
Mulugu: The Eturunagaram police have registered cases against 11 tribals for allegedly attacking forest officials and staff at Chalpaka village in Eturunagaram mandal on Monday, in the home district of Minister Seethakka.
The cases were filed based on a complaint lodged by Forest Beat Officer Amir Pasha on Tuesday. A large group of tribals had reportedly attacked forest officials and police personnel who had gone to remove huts erected on reserve forest land in the Rohir Beat area of Chalpaka.
BRS Mulugu constituency in-charge Bade Nagajyothi strongly condemned the forest department’s actions and expressed solidarity with the tribal families. She visited the affected families and assured them that the BRS would stand by them.
Nagajyothi alleged that forest officials were harassing tribals who depend on the forest for their livelihood. She also criticised Seethakka for failing to fulfil her election promise of constructing houses for the tribal population and warned that the BRS would launch protests if such actions by officials were repeated.
