16 agricultural labourers injured in road accident in Peddapalli
The incident took place near Nagepalli on the Manthani-Kataram main road when an autorickshaw trolley carrying the victims overturned after its steering rod broke. According to the police, the workers, who were residents of Battupalli in Manthani mandal, were on their way to Mallaram to work in chilli fields.
Peddapalli: At least 16 agricultural labourers injured in a road accident at Nagepalli crossroads in Manthani mandal on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred when an autorickshaw trolley wherein the victims were traveling overturned after the steering rod of the vehicle broke near Nagepalli on Manthani-Kataram main road.
According to the police, the workers, residents of Battupalli of Manthani mandal, were traveling to Mallaram to work in chilli fields.
Of the 16 labourers who were injured, three women – Bondala Kistamma, Appala Shailaja and Appala Vanitha – sustained serious injuries.
They were shifted to the Karimnagar hospital for treatment, while the remaining were admitted in the Godavarikhani government hospital.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed concern over the incident. He spoke to the Collector over phone and enquired about the accident.
