16-year-old girl electrocuted on birthday in Telangana’s Siddipet

According to police officials, the incident occurred when the girl, Majjiga Kavya, touched live electric wires when she went to switch on borewell motor

Siddipet: A 16-year-old girl was electrocuted at her home when she accidentally came in contact with live electric wires at Nagapuri village in Cheriyal mandal on Thursday morning.

The victim, Majjiga Kavya, an intermediate first year student, was celebrating her 16th birthday on Thursday. In between, noticing that the water tank was empty, she went to switch on the borewell motor.

In the process, she reportedly touched a live electric wire and was electrocuted. The incident left the family in shock as Kavya was preparing to leave for college wearing a new dress on her birthday.

The police registered a case and shifted the body to the government hospital in Cheriyal for postmortem.
