Medak: Depressed over his parents’ inability to buy him a bike, an 18-year-old youth died by suicide by hanging at Polampally on Sunday. The deceased, Maraboyina Srikanth (18), had recently completed his Intermediate. He had been urging his family to buy him a motorbike, but his father sought more time as he did not have the money.
Srikanth reportedly picked up an argument with his parents on Saturday night over the same issue. He went to the field on Sunday morning to irrigate the land. Srikanth called his mother and informed her of his decision to end his life. When she rushed to the field, Srikanth was found hanging from a tree. The incident left the family and the entire village in shock. The Chegunta police registered a case.
