Siddipet: In a step towards creating a sports hub near Gajwel town, the district administration Siddipet has allotted 20 acres of land, one km away from Gajwel town in survey number 560/1.
District Collector M Hanumantha Rao transferred 20 acres of land to the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS). Welcoming the decision of the district administration, SATS Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy said that they will set up Football Club and other sports training facilities in Gajwel Sports Hub. However, the Chairman said that they will shortly visit the site along with coaches and other experts associated with different sports disciplines. He further said that they will invite experts associated with the Indian Super League to Gajwel shortly to study the possibilities of setting up a Soccer Academy in Gajwel town.
Though the proposal for setting up a sports hub at Gajwel was a long-desired, the development of land allotment came a day after Venkateshwar Reddy met representatives of Hyderabad Football Club (HFC) in Hyderabad on Friday. Reddy has invited the HFC representatives Varun Tripuraneni and Sushan, who met him in Hyderabad on Friday, to visit Gajwel to help them to set up the Football academy.
