Kothagudem: A youth was electrocuted when he accidentally came in contact with live electric wires in Cherla mandal in the district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the deceased, G Ganapathy (26) of R Kothagudem village in the mandal went to his maize field during early morning hours to water the crop. As the irrigation pump was damaged he tried to switch off an electrical transformer near the field to repair the pump and suffered electric shock.
As he failed to respond to the phone calls his family members started looking for him and found him dead at the transformer. The local police booked a case and launched investigation into the incident.
