Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday assured that the government would take up the construction of 5,000 double bedroom houses in Huzurabad Assembly constituency in the coming days.

“People who have their own house sites will get funds to construct their houses,” he said.

Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had sanctioned 4,000 houses to the constituency five years ago, the Minister said BJP leader Eatala Rajender, however, failed to complete even a single house while other Ministers and Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy completed the houses sanctioned in their respective constituencies.

“The government would not only sanction 5,000 houses but we will also ensure their construction by bringing to the notice of the Chief Minister the injustice meted out to the people of Huzurabad, he said.

Harish Rao was speaking after distributing Rs 3.14 crore loan interest amount to Self Help Groups in Illandakunta mandal.

Appealing to the people to support the TRS government that was committed to the welfare of the people, the Minister said while the TRS government was helping the public by extending all support, the BJP government at the Centre was imposing a burden on the common people. “People should decide which party they want to support,” he said.

As promised earlier, farm loans up to Rs 25,000 were already waived and loans up to Rs 50,000 will be waived in the coming ten days period. The amount up to R 1 lakh will be waived in the February-March months. Waiver of farm loans has been delayed due to the financial crisis prevailing due to Covid pandemic, he admitted.

While the state government was supporting farmers by waiving farm loans, giving Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, the central government was extracting money from ryots by increasing the prices of diesel and petrol. Moreover, the Centre was also planning to abolish market yards through its anti-farm laws.

The price of cooking gas has also been enhanced to Rs 1,000 from Rs 450 besides reducing the subsidy amount to Rs 40 from Rs 250.

BJP leaders, who were trying to lure the voters by offering tickly pockets, wall clocks, sewing machines, grinders, were not promising the people to reduce the prices of diesel, petrol, cooking gas and edible oil.

In order to help the poor, the State government providing Kalyanalaxmi, KCR kit, Aasara pensions, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and others. However, BJP leader Rajender, who served Huzurabad for 17 years and worked as a Minister for seven-year, termed the schemes as peanuts.

No BJP ruled State was providing this kind of scheme. While the Telangana government was giving Rs 2016 pension, only Rs 600 pension is being provided in Gujarat state. The people who crossed 57 years would also get a pension in the coming one to two months.

Telangana government solved the drinking water problems of women by giving tap connections to each and every house in the state under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme.

Adequate water was supplied to the Yasangi crop by completing the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project. While the state government was supplying 24 hours free current to the agriculture sector, the Centre was contemplating fixing meters to agriculture pump sets to record power used by farmers. So, people should teach a befitting lesson to BJP by defeating its candidate in Huzurabad by-polls.
