9-year-old critical after electrocution in Kukatpally

In Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area, a nine-year-old boy was critically injured after being electrocuted while trying to retrieve a kite entangled in transformer cables.

Hyderabad: A nine-year-old child is battling for life after being electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a kite from an electricity transformer in Kukatpally on Sunday.

Reports indicate that the child was playing when he noticed a kite tangled in the transformer’s cables. In an effort to free it, he came into contact with the live wires and was electrocuted, collapsing on the road.

Local residents rushed to his aid and immediately shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for severe burns. His condition is said to be critical.
