Hyderabad: The academic year will come to an end in a month or two and the summer break is a great time to get an internship and learn real-world skills to kickstart a career. It is now the time to start planning an internship so by the time the semester is done, you will have an internship to do. With the pandemic still going strong, students can also opt for various internship opportunities online. The best part is that online internships can be taken up with any organisation across the world, and students can also get global exposure along the way.

Here’s a look at some online internships that students can take up

Writing

Writing, whether blog-writing or copywriting or content writing or creative writing, there are multiple avenues where someone with good writing skills can take up an internship. The best part is that an internship in writing only requires command over a language and good articulation skills. Another great part about interning as a writer is that it gives you a skill that is relevant in almost every field as almost every company needs a content writer in some form or the other.

Programming

This is especially for CSE/IT students who want to make a career in programming. With the huge number of startups that are there, it is easy for students to find internships related to web-building, app-building, Artificial Intelligence and more.

Video editing

A significant amount of content on social media nowadays is video-based, so there is a massive demand for skilled video-editors and this demand is something that will increase in the coming years. If you know your way around video-editing tools, then you can take up a summer internship online as a video editor and with enough exposure, you can make it your profession.

Graphic Design

If you love art and love representing things in a visual way, you can work as a graphic designer and take up an internship online. All you need is an eye for art and a knowledge of tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. There are also easy-to-use tools online like Canva, where you can easily create designs.

Social media manager

Many of us spend a lot of time on social media, on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc. If you are active on any of these platforms and you know how to get likes and comments, then you can actually intern as a social media manager. Social media handlers play a crucial role in building brand awareness of any company on social media, so most companies require social media managers. Intern as one and you can kickstart your profession.
