Hyderabad: Telangana Postal Circle administration on Tuesday declared Hyderabad General Post Office (GPO) at Abids as a seven-star post office for its operational excellence in various services provided to the general public.
The title reflects achievement of seven targets – the first being RD, SSA, PF accounts (94 per cent achievement), the second being IPPC accounts (80 per cent achievement), the third being Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, Digital Life Certificates, Bill Payments (100 per cent achievement), Child Enrolment Lite Client (264 per cent achievement), Postal Life Insurance/Rural Postal Life Insurance (363 per cent achievement) and Postman Mobile Application utilisation (98 per cent achievement).
The announcement was made by T.M. Sreelatha, Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, Telangana Circle.
According to Chief Postmaster A Subrahmanyam, the seven-star status is achieved by post offices that are providing excellent services to the general public and meeting their expectations besides achieving more than their targeted business.
