According to ACB statements, 32nd ward officer of Sathupalli Town in Khammam, Nallanti Vinod was caught red-handed at the Bharat Juice Centre near the District Cooperative Bank while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,500 from a person for doing an official favour.

Vinod had demanded the bribe from a woman to process her ration card and Indiramma house sanction application. The official was arrested and was being produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases at Warangal after the chemical test conducted on the fingers of both his hands and the inner flap of his shirt pocket yielded positive results. The bribe amount too was recovered from Vinod, ACB officials said.

In Manoharabad’s Kallakal village, Ch Krishna, an assistant engineer with the electricity department attached to the Kallakal circle was caught when he took a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a person to release his power supply by erecting a 63KVA 3-phase DTR under the LT category. The official, according to an ACB release, had initially demanded Rs 30,000 from the complainant, out of which Krishna had already taken Rs 10,000.

The AE was arrested and was being produced before the IInd Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally.

The ACB has asked the public to inform them on the toll-free number 1064 if any public servant demands a bribe. The name and details of the complainant would be kept confidential.
