Actor Naresh says he wanted to stop Sai Dharam Tej from riding

Hyderabad: Sending out prayers to actor Sai Dharam Tej, who is in hospital following an accident on Friday, senior actor Naresh said on Saturday that he had actually wanted to stop Dharam Tej and his son Naveen from going out on the bike.

A video released by him on Twitter has him saying: “My son Naveen and Dharam Tej have been very close friends. They left my house, on their bikes, yesterday minutes before the accident. By that time, I wanted to stop, but they’d already left. Four days ago, I actually thought of giving him counselling on bike riding,” he said. 

“This is the right age for them to focus on their careers and for marriage. I advise them not to take such risks at this point,” he said, recalling how he took an oath before his mother not to ride a motorcycle after he survived a major road mishap years ago. 

Naresh said he couldn’t visit Dharam Tej at the hospital because of the prevailing situation. “I wish to meet him soon. Earlier, there were several celebrities who lost their dear ones in road mishaps. Take the case of Kota Srinivasa Rao’s son, Babu Mohan’s son. All have left their families in grief. I believe Dharam Tej will recover fully soon and start shooting as well,” he added.
