Adilabad farmers protest erratic power supply, threaten to consume pesticide
Farmers from Gomuthri village staged a sit-in at a power sub-station in Bheempur mandal, protesting erratic electricity supply to the agriculture sector. They said their crops were withering and threatened to consume pesticide before withdrawing after NPDCL officials assured uninterrupted power.

Adilabad: Farmers staged a protest over erratic supply of power carrying pesticide bottles at a power sub-station at Arli (T) village in Bheempur mandal on Thursday.
The enraged farmers from Gomuthri village expressed their anger against the unscheduled power outages to the agriculture sector by staging a sit-in at the power sub-station. They regretted that their crops were getting withered due to interruptions in supply of the electricity. They demanded the government to provide sufficient power to agriculture needs.
The agitating farmers threatened that they all would die by suicide by consuming the pesticide if their challenge was not resolved at the earliest. They withdrew their protest after NPDCL officials promised to supply electricity without interruptions.
Leaders Nimma Venu Yadav, Goudi Narayana, Nagaiah, Bandi Gajanan and farmers took part in the protest.
