Adilabad’s man awarded PhD by AU for research on adult learning in petroleum industry in India

Adilabad: P Sadu Sunder, a retired general manager of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) from this town, successfully defended his thesis and was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Andhra University, for research work titled A Study on Adult Learning Process in Petroleum Industry in India with Reference to HPCL. An order to this effect was issued by the Deputy Registrar of the university recently.
Sunder said that the study focuses on understanding adult learning mechanisms within the petroleum sector, highlighting training practices, workforce development and learning effectiveness in one of India’s leading public sector enterprises. The research is expected to contribute significantly to both academic knowledge and industry practices, particularly in enhancing employee learning and organisational performance.
The retired general manager stated that he had carried out the research programme under the guidance of Prof Jaladi Ravi of the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, AU. He thanked Ravi and the faculty of the department for extending support to him in completing the PhD. He was congratulated by friends and relatives in the town for achieving the degree from AU.
Sunder is known for charity in the town through Peace Forum, a Hyderabad-based NGO.
