Peddapalli: The police on Sunday took Kunta Srinivas and S Chiranjeevi, suspected in the killing of advocate couple Gattu Vamana Rao and PV Nagamani on February 17, to Sundilla reservoir wherein they dropped sickles used for the murder. The police took the trio Kunta Srinivas, S Chiranjeevi and Akkapaka Kumar into their custody on February 26. As part of the investigation, they took the suspects to the reservoir on Sunday to know the exact place where they dropped sickles in the waters around 2 pm.

After killing the lawyer couple near Kalvacherla at around 2.30 pm, the duo claimed to have reached the Sundilla barrage through 8 Incline colony and dropped two sickles used for the murder in the waters. They were nabbed by the police, during their attempt to flee away to Maharashtra.

On Sunday, a six member team of sea divers from Vishakhapatnam were brought to the Sundilla reservoir. Based on information provided by the suspects, the police carried out search operations in the barrage.

The team members carried out a search operation in two gates premises for about three hours. As they failed to trace sickles, sea drivers have decided to continue searching on Monday morning.
