Hyderabad: After Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh, Armoor MLA P Rakesh Reddy has now expressed displeasure with the State BJP leadership and suggested a change in the “format” to win power in Telangana.

Speaking at the party’s protest programme here on Sunday, Rakesh Reddy cited the party’s performance in Maharashtra and Bihar, saying people were questioning BJP leaders about their performance in Telangana.

He said the leadership might change, but the strategy should change as well. “Right candidates must be identified for elections, and those who can hit sixers should be given an opportunity,” he said.

“We have to play the 20-20 format to hoist the BJP flag in Telangana. We have been pleading for 40 years and the blood of party workers is boiling. The number of matches played is not important, winning the final is essential,” he said.

The BJP organised the protest at Dharna Chowk as the Congress government completed two years in office. Party leaders charged that the government had failed to fulfil its promises.

BJP State president N Ramchander Rao, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and other leaders released a chargesheet highlighting alleged failures of the Congress government.
