Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of the votes of the Karimnagar Local Authorities Constituency MLC election scheduled on Tuesday.
Election authorities made arrangements for counting at SRR Degree and PG College, where the ballot boxes were stored after polling. Out of 1,324 votes, 1,320 electors exercised their votes in Karimnagar LAC election held on December 10.
Eight tables have been arranged to take up counting which starts at 8 am in the morning. The counting process would be completed in seven rounds.
After opening ballot boxes, polling staff will prepare bundles along with 25 ballot papers in each bundle. In each round, 25 ballots will be counted on each table. All put together, 200 votes will be counted on eight tables in each round. In the seventh round, 120 votes will be counted on five tables. Police have also made tight security arrangements to complete the counting process in a peaceful manner.
District Collector RV Karnan inspected the arrangements at SRR College on Monday evening. Speaking on the occasion, he said that counting would be conducted in a perfect and transparent manner.
A total of eight tables were arranged for counting which would start at 8 am. Informing that 24 counting staff was deployed, he said that a counting supervisor, counting assistant and micro observer would look after counting at each table.
Out of 1,324 electors in Karimnagar LAC, 1,320 voters have cast their votes. A total of 10 candidates contested the poll.
