Hyderabad: Amazon Prime membership is all set to cost more in India by almost 50 per cent. The annual subscription of Amazon Prime will go up to Rs 1,499 from the current cost of Rs 999. Not just this, the company also plans to revise the monthly and quarterly Prime plans as well. The subscription that offers a variety of services including shopping, OTT and music will go for a revision soon and may make many prospective users unhappy.
However, users still have the chance of getting the subscription at Rs 999 and existing users can continue with the current price till the duration of their membership. However, post the price change you will also be charged the new prices. Meanwhile, the company has not specified when the new prices will be rolled out and company plans to introduce these changes ‘very soon’.
The website shows that the quarterly Amazon Prime membership is available for Rs 459 instead of Rs 329 and monthly subscription has gone up to Rs 179 from Rs 129. The new prices will not be charged on the card automatically and no specific reason has been mentioned about the change.
