Amit Sanghi becomes first South India representative in NRAI leadership
Amit Sanghi, President of the Telangana Rifle Association, has been elected Senior Vice-President of the National Rifle Association of India for 2025–2029. His election marks the first time a representative from South India has taken this national leadership role
Hyderabad: Amit Sanghi, President of the Telangana Rifle Association, has been elected Senior Vice-President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) for the term 2025–2029.
Sanghi’s election marks a notable development, as this is the first time a representative from the Southern region has been elected to this national role, according to a TRA release.
“Mr Sanghi brings over 25 years of experience in the shooting sport ecosystem and has been actively associated with the NRAI for several years. His leadership, administrative experience and contribution to the sport have been widely recognised within the shooting fraternity,” the TRA said.
Sharing his thoughts after the election, Amit Sanghi said, “This responsibility strengthens my commitment to work closely with all stakeholders to advance shooting sports in India. My focus will be on supporting athletes, improving access to training infrastructure and ensuring that our country continues its upward trajectory on the global stage.”
TRA congratulated the newly elected office bearers Messrs Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President; Pawankumar Singh, Secretary General; and Meghasham Shripad Bhangle, Honorary Treasurer.
TRA conveyed its best wishes to the entire NRAI leadership for a productive and impactful tenure. TRA General Secretary Kiran, along with other executive members of the Telangana Rifle Association, shared their happiness and congratulated Amit Sanghi, expressing confidence that his leadership will contribute significantly to the continued growth of the sport.
