Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh recorded 10.7 per cent economic growth in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal despite the impact of El Niño, with agriculture registering the highest growth of 13.5 per cent, followed by industry at 10.6 per cent and services at 9.9 per cent, officials said.

Planning Department officials presented the July 2026 monthly economic report to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office here.

“Andhra Pradesh recorded 10.7 per cent economic growth in the second quarter of 2025-26 despite the impact of El Niño, with agriculture leading at 13.5 percent, followed by industry at 10.6 per cent and the services sector at 9.9 per cent,” an official press release said on Tuesday.

The state’s real Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate increased from 6.5 per cent in 2023-24 to 9.9 per cent in 2025-26, and remained higher than the national growth rate for the past two years, said the press release.

Naidu directed officials to formulate comprehensive plans to achieve the state’s 15 per cent growth target despite the El Niño crisis and called for effective technology integration across government departments to improve performance.

He noted that deficient rainfall and inadequate water in the Krishna River had affected reservoir levels at Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar, adding that the state had diverted Godavari floodwaters to irrigate the Krishna Delta.

With groundwater levels also declining, the Chief Minister directed departments to coordinate and take measures to prevent any decline in economic output. He called for data-based analysis, corrective measures and effective resource management at every level.

He also directed officials to ensure that the common man did not face any additional price burden and suggested forming a committee to examine the issue.

The CM called for contingency planning covering water availability, agricultural value addition and other critical areas and directed officials to ensure exports to international markets were not adversely affected.

Naidu said district, constituency and mandal-level reports should be prepared to facilitate monitoring and achievement of targets.
