Sangareddy: Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran has thanked the State Cabinet and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for approving the Basaveshwara and Sangamaheswara Lift Irrigation Projects that were proposed under Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS).
The State Cabinet, which met in Hyderabad on Thursday, approved both the projects. The MLA said the two projects will provide irrigation water to 3.84 lakh acres in Sangareddy district. The projects will cost Rs 4,400 crores to the State exchequer, he said in a statement here on Friday.
While Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project will provide irrigation water to Sangareddy, Zaheerabad and Andole Assembly Constituencies, the Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project will provide irrigation water to Narayankhed and part of Andole Constituency.
Saying that his Andole Constituency would benefit from both the projects, Kranthi Kiran said he will remain indebted to the Chief Minister for his entire life.
Stating that the Andole will get irrigation water for about 2 lakh acres under Basaveshwara and Sangameshwara and package -19 of KLIS, he said that the projects will change the face of Andole constituency, part of which is also spread in Medak district.
The farmers across Sangareddy district celebrated after the State government approved the lift irrigation projects, whose survey works have already been completed, he said.
