Attempt on life of TRS MPTC at Yellandu
The incident occurred late on Wednesday night at Singareni High School area when the MPTC was returning home.
Kothagudem: Some assailants made an attempt on the life of TRS MPTC of Indira Nagar Mandala Ramu at Yellandu in the district but he managed to escape unhurt from the spot.
The incident occurred late on Wednesday night at Singareni High School area when the MPTC was returning home. He informed the police that when he reached the area, a person tried to attack him with a knife while three others in a car rushed towards him.
Ramu, who was riding a motorbike at that time, immediately went to the camp office of ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah and informed the police. The police who rushed to the spot took one person into custody and also seized knives from the spot.
The MPTC told press persons on Thursday that in March last some persons had hit his motor bike with a car in a bid to kill him but he escaped with the help of followers. Similarly some time back a few persons tried to attack him at his residence in Indira Nagar.
Ramu said that he lodged a complaint with the local police and submitted a petition to the Superintendent of Police seeking protection. Political rivalry was said to be the reason behind the incident.
Yellandu Inspector, Ramesh, informed that they registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. The hunt for three others who escaped in the car from the spot was on, he added.
