Baja SaeIndia 2026 competitions conclude successfully at BVRIT

Medak: The four-day mechanical Baja SaeIndia 2026 competitions held at B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur, concluded successfully on Sunday with final racing events.
Additional Superintendent of Police, CS Mahender, flagged off the final race by waving the green flag. Event Convener Ali Sayed and Joint Convener Vemula Murali Krishna informed that around 1,500 students from 11 States participated in the competition. A total of 51 buggies were registered, out of which 32 qualified for the final endurance race.
Participation included 13 teams from Maharashtra, nine from Tamil Nadu, four each from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana, two each from Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, and one team each from Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. Based on performance in different racing competitions, the students were presented cash prizes.
MIT World Peace University students won Rs 1.50 lakh as first prize while KLE Technological University, Karnataka, bagged second prize and received Rs 1 lakh as cash prize. D Y Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur won the third prize of Rs 75,000 while Sri Vishnu College for Women students won vehicle stability, vehicle manufacturing excellence and vehicle computer aided engineering awards.
Muthu Lagu from BVRIT bagged the prestigious Dronacharya Award while Srinidhi Engineering College students bagged the Telangana award.
During the valedictory ceremony, Principal of BVRIT, Sanjay Dubey, mentioned that this was the third time the college had hosted national-level Baja competitions in three years. The event was also attended by Managing Director of Olectra, Mahesh Babu, President of SAEINDIA, G Nagarajan, Secretary of Sri Vishnu Educational Institutions and others.
