Bandi supports protest by former sarpanches
Sanjay Kumar also demanded that the State government procure paddy on a war footing since farmers were facing troubles at the paddy procurement centres due to delays and rains.
Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar found fault with the State government for not clearing the pending bills of gram panchayats. Former sarpanches, who were facing severe hardships due to the pending bills, would teach a befitting lesson to the Congress party in the forthcoming local body elections, he told the media after laying the foundation for AMRUT 2.0 works taken up with Rs 147 crore here on Monday.
Earlier, there was respect for sarpanches, MPTCs and ZPTCs. However, the condition of sarpanches was in bad shape as bills worth several lakhs were pending. Sarpanches were forced to a position where they have to stage dharnas for pending bills, he said. The State government, which has money to take up Musi beautification with Rs.1.5 lakh crore, has no amount to clear bills, he alleged.
Sanjay Kumar also demanded that the State government procure paddy on a war footing since farmers were facing troubles at the paddy procurement centres due to delays and rains.
