Bandi’s deeksha politically motivated: Balka Suman

Hyderabad: Government Whip Balka Suman ridiculed BJP State president and MP Bandi Sanjay’s plans to stage a demonstration (deeksha) against the State government’s failure in curbing unemployment in Telangana. He reminded that Telangana’s unemployment rate was far lesser than the national unemployment rate. He pointed out that there were 8.72 lakh job vacancies in various government departments, while the Central government had sold 36 public sector undertakings (PSUs).

“Sanjay’s deeksha is for posterity and is filled with political agenda. The facts say otherwise. The union government itself admitted in the Parliament that unemployment rate in Telangana was far lesser than the national average. The BJP leaders must explain what the Modi government has done when unemployment rate has been gradually rising even before Covid-19 pandemic. Why didn”t the Centre fill the 8.72 lakh vacancies?” he questioned, while speaking to mediapersons at TRS Legislative Party office here on Saturday.

The Chennur MLA said the TRS government had released a white paper on the vacancies filled by the State government since the State formation, and dared the BJP State leaders to convince the BJP-led union government to release similar white paper on the vacancies available in the Central government. He accused the Modi government of denying lakhs of jobs to SCs, STs, BCs and minorities by closing 36 PSUs in the country. Suman challenged Bandi Sanjay to convince the BJP national leadership to sanction new projects or at least implement the promises made to the State in the Parliament under Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. “The BJP State leaders who are always ready to criticise the State government for everything that goes wrong, must explain why no railway coach factory was established at Kazipet and steel plant was not set up in Bayyaram. Why is the Centre keen to sell the mines to private companies in Singareni coal belt?” he questioned.
