Nagarkurnool: Members of various BC organisations and affiliated groups continued their protests at Kummera village in the district, demanding justice for a two-month-old baby who died in an alleged caste-related attack on his family at the Kummera Mallanna temple last week.
Former Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the village on Thursday morning and met the bereaved family. “It has been nearly a week and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has not spoken a word about the incident. He should respond and assure justice to the family,” Srinivas Yadav demanded.
He said stern action must be initiated against the offenders and that they should be brought to book. Alleging that the police were resorting to all measures to save the accused, he warned that if the government failed to take action against the offenders within 15 days, the protests would be intensified in Hyderabad.
Members of various BC organisations have been staging a protest at the Ambedkar statue in the village, reiterating their demand for justice for the infant’s family.
