Suryapet: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gujja Deepika Yogender on Tuesday underlined the need to ensure that fruits of welfare schemes and development programmes reach every person in the State. Speaking at a standing committee meeting of Zilla Parishad, she said that the State government had taken up several welfare schemes for the benefit of all sections of society. Elected representatives and officials have a crucial role to play to see that the benefits of the schemes reach all eligible people. She underlined the need to involve the people in the development process at the field level.
Stating that top priority should be accorded to sanitation and cleanliness in rural areas, she said there was a need to create a healthy atmosphere in villages. Special focus should be laid on survival of saplings planted under Haritha Haram and also for development of Palle Prakruthi Vanams. She made it clear that an officer from each department must attend the general body and standing committee meetings of Zilla Parishad.
