Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday said social justice is at the core of his government’s policies and called upon retired officers to use their administrative experience to guide the younger generation and contribute to society.
Interacting with retired officers belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes here, Sharma highlighted the need for continuous dialogue between the government and society for effective implementation of policies.
“Officers retire from government service, but never from their social responsibilities. Their administrative experience and understanding of ground realities could play an important role in realising the vision of a developed Rajasthan,” he said. The chief minister said that his government was committed to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in society, in accordance with the ideals of B R Ambedkar.
Highlighting various welfare measures for SC and ST communities, Sharma said around 4.25 lakh students have benefited under the SC post-matric scholarship scheme and 4.30 lakh students under the ST post-matric scholarship scheme.
He said loans worth Rs 887 crore have been disbursed under the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit, Adivasi Udyam Protsahan Yojana, while houses have been provided to 14,636 eligible families in Baran district under the PM-JANMAN scheme. Retired IAS, IPS, IRS, and other officers attended the interaction.
