Hyderabad: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced key dates and venues for two upcoming global women’s tournaments — the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 — to be hosted by India and England, respectively.
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will take place from September 30 to November 2 across five venues: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R Premadasa Stadium (Colombo). The eight-team tournament will follow a round-robin format with 28 league matches.
The opening match will feature host nation India playing in Bengaluru, marking the return of an ICC women’s global event to India for the first time since 2016, when the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was held alongside the men’s edition.
The final will be held either in Bengaluru or Colombo on November 2, depending on whether Pakistan qualifies for the knockout stages. Similarly, the first semifinal is scheduled for October 29 in Guwahati or Colombo, and the second semifinal will be played in Bengaluru on October 30. Colombo will host the knockout matches only if Pakistan qualifies.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah expressed excitement, saying, “Fans have shown great support for the women’s game in recent years, and I am sure they will begin planning now that dates and venues are confirmed.”
He added, “Women’s cricket is at the forefront of our vision, and we’re confident these tournaments will elevate the momentum the sport has gained globally.”
Meanwhile, Edgbaston in Birmingham will host the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with England Women kicking off the tournament on June 12.
