Hyderabad: With some fraudsters out to cheat even people battling for life against Covid-19, the Rachakonda Police have urged people to come out and expose blackmarketing of Remdesivir injections in the city. Confidentiality of those who give information on those selling the injection illegally or at exorbitant prices would be maintained, the police has assured.

We request the citizens to keep inform us about sale of #REMDESIVIR_INJECTIONS at higher prices in #blackmarket. Your details well be kept #confidential and will take #stringent action against the culprits. #COVIDEmergency2021 #Remdesivir @TelanganaDGP @TelanganaCOPs pic.twitter.com/Tg6Gc2GT9k

The police, which also listed out a number of differences to identify between the original Remdesivir vials and duplicate ones in the market, said the original ones would have an ‘Rx’ indication on the box and the letter ‘V’ in capitals for the word ‘Vial’. Duplicate versions, which were flooding the market and endangering the lives of several critically ill Covid-19 patients, would also have errors in capitalisation and alignment of words, the Rachakonda Police said in a post with pictures on Twitter.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat also warned those selling antiviral drugs and coronavirus preventive medicines at higher rates and requested the public to file complaints against those selling medicines and oxygen cylinders at higher rates on Dial-100 or the Rachakonda Police WhatsApp number 9490617111.
