Bhupalpally: The continuing food poisoning incidents in government run school and hostels in the recent past have put officials in the State on the alert. District Collector Rahul Sharma on Saturday conducted a surprise visit at Urban Residential School situated in the Bhupalpally Municipality limits and inspected the dishes cooked for midday meals.
The Collector inspected the kitchen, store room and dormitory hall and directed officials to maintain cleanliness in and around the school. He ordered to provide quality meals to the students staying in the hostel as per the menu. He also spoke to the students and inquired about the food items being served in the school.
Sharma asked the hostel warden to install water heaters in the hostel so that student could use hot water for bathing in the winter season. He ordered the District Education Officer (DEO) to provide another pair of uniforms as only one pair of uniforms had been provided to the students. He clarified that the staff should attend their duties on time and follow the rules.
The collector also asked officials to install an Reverse Osmosis Water Plant in the school. “If students have any health problems, medical services should be provided immediately and the parents of the students should be informed,”he said.
