Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP here on Tuesday requested the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to use her good offices in withdrawing the GO 317, which it claimed was against the interests of government employees, especially teachers. In a memorandum submitted to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here, the party delegation led by former MLC N Ramchander Rao explained in detail to the Governor the problems being faced by the employees with the GO 317.

“The employees are losing their nativity because of this particular GO,” he said, interacting with media persons after meeting the Governor. He said one of the main reasons behind forming the separate State of Telangana was employment opportunities. But with the GO 317, the employees were gripped in a state of panic since it was affecting their nativity, he said. He alleged that the employees were losing their seniority category and promotions because of the same GO.

Rao said the GO was prepared in an unscientific manner and as a result it was benefiting only a few employees in the State. “Since several employees committed suicide to protest against the government’s attitude in bringing in the GO, we are demanding the government to withdraw it at the earliest in the larger interest of employees,” he added.
