Social Welfare School staff demand promotions and pay parity
Staff from social welfare residential schools in Telangana met Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar to demand resolution of long-pending issues, including promotions across cadres and pay parity for part-time physical education teachers.

Hyderabad: The social welfare residential schools staff on Thursday demanded the State government to resolve their long-pending issues, including promotions.
The Social Welfare Residential Teachers’ Union, and Physical Directors & PETs Association representatives, who met Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, urged the government to announce promotions for all cadres, including the elevation of Physical Director Grade-II to Grade I.
Apart from raising the issue of GO 317 transfers, the staff wanted changes in the timetable besides pay-scale disparity of part-time physical education teachers with sister organisations.
The Minister, according to the social welfare staff, assured that he would resolve all issues in the forthcoming Board of Governors meeting with officials concerned.
Association chairman Dr. Rama Laxman, along with association representatives Balaswamy, Chander, Pandu, Harikisan, and Uday Bhasker were among those who met the Minister.
