Blockbusters & misses: Big Telugu OTT premieres to watch this July

With these releases lined up, audience now have plenty of fresh picks to catch up from the comfort of their homes.

Hyderabad: After a successful theatrical run, Nagarjuna Akineni, Rashmika Mandanna, and Dhanush’s crime drama Kuberaa is set to make its digital debut on Prime Video on July 18. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film will stream in Telugu and Tamil, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Set in Mumbai’s grim underbelly, Kuberaa follows the life of Deva Kallam, a vagrant from Tirupati, who gets pulled into a dangerous oil conspiracy involving a corrupt tycoon and a disgraced ex-CBI officer. The film, which also stars Jim Sarbh in a crucial role, was released in theatres on June 20 and collected an impressive Rs. 132 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, the romantic drama 8 Vasantalu, starring Ananthika Sanilkumar in her second outing, is now streaming on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film, directed by Phanindra Narsetti and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, opened in cinemas on June 20 but failed to make a mark with the majority of moviegoers. With its OTT release, the team hopes to reach a wider audience. Hanu Reddy, Ravi Duggirala, Swaraj Rebbapragada, and others play key roles, while the music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab.

Controversial adult drama Saaree, written by Ram Gopal Varma and directed by Giri Krishna Kamal, is also finding a second chance online. Despite all the buzz for the wrong reasons during its theatrical run, the A-rated film is now available on Aha in its uncut version. Starring Aaradhya Devi, Satya Yadu, Sahil Sambhyal, and Appaji Ambarish, Saaree is produced by Ravi Shankar Varma with music by Anand Raag.

Lastly, Shraddha Srinath’s post-apocalyptic psychological thriller Kaliyugam 2064 has made its OTT debut too. The film, which hit cinemas in May 2025 and received mixed reactions, is streaming in Telugu on Aha, while the Tamil version is available on Sun NXT. Directed by Pramodh Sundar and featuring Kishore, Iniyan Subramani, and Harry, the thriller is produced by RK International, with music by Dawn Vincent.
