Medak: The bodies of Manga Sandhyarani (43) and her daughter Chandana (23), who were charred to death in the VKaveri Travels bus accident in Kurnool district, were identified based on DNA reports from their family members at the Government Hospital, Kurnool.

The bodies were handed over to Sandhyarani’s husband, Anand Goud, on Sunday evening. They are being brought to their native village, Shivvaipally in Shivvampet mandal, on Sunday night, and the funeral will be held on Monday morning.

Anand Goud, who works in Muscat, returned to India after learning of the death of his wife and daughter. Sandhyarani, who was also living in Muscat, had returned to India along with her husband during the Dasara and Deepavali holidays to spend time with their children, Chandana, who was working as a techie in Bengaluru, and Vallabh, who is pursuing his graduation in Allahabad.

After the holidays, Anand went back to Muscat, while Sandhyarani stayed behind. She planned to drop Chandana in Bengaluru before catching a flight to Muscat. The mother and daughter boarded the ill-fated VKaveri Travels bus at Chinthal in Hyderabad on Thursday, but their journey ended tragically midway.
